转述期望丶意图和承诺
在转述一个意图丶期望或承诺时，我们会用适当的转述动词接带有 would 的 that 子句，或是接不定词子句。用在这种句型的动词包括：hope丶promise丶threaten丶guarantee 和 swear。要留意一点，当使用的是 that 子句，that 这个字就可以省略，如下列第一个例句。

He threatened to shoot me if I didn't give him the keys to the safe. 或 He threatened that he would shoot me if I didn't give him the keys to the safe. |
| "I will not tell anyone your secret" he said. |
He swore that he would not tell anyone my secret. 或 He swore not to tell anyone my secret. |
